“Lifetime clog-free guarantee” is a big claim, and if you have shopped gutter guards at all, you have seen versions of it on everything from premium systems to the plastic screens at the hardware store. Most of those claims do not survive a reading of the fine print. This post explains what the guarantee behind our installs actually is, where it comes from, and what has to be true for it to apply to your home.
Where the Guarantee Comes From
The guarantee is not something we print on our own letterhead. It comes from Alu-Rex, the manufacturer of the guard systems we install, and it stands behind gutters that stay flowing when the product is installed correctly on a properly built system.
That last clause is the whole story. A gutter guard is not a gadget you clip on and forget. It is one component in a drainage system that also includes the gutter profile, the pitch, the hangers, the downspouts, and the fascia behind all of it. The manufacturer backs the outcome when the system is assembled the way they engineered it to be assembled. Which brings us to certification.
Why Certified Installation Matters
We are the only Alu-Rex Certified Installer in your region. Certification means our crews are trained by the manufacturer to install these systems to manufacturer spec: the right fastening schedule, the right fit to the gutter profile, the right handling of corners, end caps, and transitions, and a finished system that meets the conditions the guarantee is written around.
Here is why that matters to you in practice. The most common way homeowners lose guard warranty coverage has nothing to do with the product failing. It is installation shortcuts: guards trimmed to fit the wrong gutter profile, screws into thin fascia, panels that lift at the seams and let debris in through the gap. When that happens with a box-store product or an uncertified crew, the manufacturer’s answer is simple: the system was not installed to spec, so the coverage does not apply.
Certified installation closes that gap. The product, the installation method, and the guarantee all come from the same engineering, so there is no finger-pointing between the installer and the manufacturer if something ever needs attention.
DoublePro and T-Rex: Two Systems, One Idea
Alu-Rex makes two systems we install, and which one your home needs depends on your trees, your roofline, and your winters.
DoublePro is the microfiltration system. It uses a two-layer perforated aluminum design that keeps out fine debris, the kind that defeats ordinary screens: pine needles, shingle grit, seed pods, maple keys. T-Rex is the continuous hanger system. Instead of a guard resting on top of the gutter, T-Rex is a structural aluminum rail that runs the full length of the run, fastening the gutter to the fascia continuously rather than at clip points every few feet. The guard surface is built into the rail. It carries a lifetime structural warranty and a 25-year clog-free warranty from the manufacturer, and the structural half of that is why we lean on it for snow-load country. What the Guarantee Does and Does Not Promise
A clog-free guarantee covers what it says: the gutter staying free-flowing. It is worth being clear about the boundaries, because a guard company that overpromises is setting you up for a bad phone call later.
It does not mean your gutters become invisible and maintenance-free forever. Downspouts still discharge at ground level where leaves can collect. Valleys still concentrate debris on the roof above the guard. And as we said plainly in the ice dam post, no guard prevents ice dams, because ice dams are an attic heat-loss problem, not a debris problem.
It also does not cover a system installed over problems. If the fascia is rotted or the gutter is pitched wrong, we fix that first or we do not install the guard. Putting a guaranteed product on a failing gutter helps nobody, and we would rather lose the guard sale than set up an install that cannot perform.

What Qualifying Looks Like
If you want the guarantee on your home, the path is straightforward:
- Inspection first. We look at the existing gutters, pitch, hangers, and fascia. If the system underneath is not sound, we tell you what needs fixing and why.
- The right product for the property. DoublePro for fine-debris and heavy-tree lots, T-Rex where structure and snow load are the bigger fight. Sometimes the answer is a new gutter and guard as one system.
- Certified installation to manufacturer spec. Our factory-trained crews install it the way the coverage requires. That is the step no DIY kit and no uncertified crew can supply.
From there, the system is registered and the coverage follows the home.
